Today was our annual field trip to the local apple farm with our homeschool group. It was a little chilly with the wind, and a lot of the apples had fallen, but these crazy kids still enjoyed it!

Continuing on with our volcanoes unit, this week we created inventions to help scientists discover new information about volcanoes.
Bish invented a vehicle that drove up the side of the volcano, taking rock samples for testing.
Katie invented a drone that flies into lava to collect samples and take videos.
Frankie invented a camera that projects holograms of photos, and tells scientists about the makeup of volcanoes.
In addition to researching and creating, the girls got to practice their public speaking skills this week as they shared with us about their inventions!
I love the ocean. The salt air and sound of the waves replenishes my soul like nothing else can. As we came to the end of the summer without our annual week at the ocean, I was feeling depleted and discouraged.
It was at the perfect moment that my BFF suggested a day trip to the beach with the kids. I was so excited!!
We sat on the beach with our feet in the sand, listening to the waves. We walked, we ate, and we enjoyed each other’s company. It was heavenly.
And of course, no trip would be complete without the selfies!
It was a beautiful with our best friends, and we left feeling relaxed and refreshed. I was so thankful to get some time at my favorite place on earth before the cold strikes!
I spent a good chunk of time in front of my sewing machine today. When I finally got up to take a break, I came across this sight.
She’s camping in the hallway with her American girl doll and her horse. As we enter a season where our girls would spend all their time in front of screens if we allowed it, it was nice to walk out to this!
