Love.

“Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers a multitude of sins.” –1 Peter 4:8

The past eight months have been hard on my family. The kind of hard that redefines the very word. The journey of living through the death of a loved one is something you can’t possibly understand until you have to do it. Until you’re left with no choice but to do it. Mourning the loss of my brother has affected every single aspect of my life. Things have gone undone. My relationships have suffered. While my children weren’t close to their uncle Josh, they have felt the weight of loss as they watched me struggle through my grief.

Some families would be unable to weather the storm we’ve been through, but mine has been steadfast. It is the love that we have for each other; fierce and unconditional, glorious and absolute, that has carried me through some of my darkest days. After what has felt like forever, I think we’re finally entering a new season in our lives. A season of finding ourselves again now that the adjustments are over and the new normal has been found. I thank God for these amazing people He has given me, what a wonderful gift to call them mine.
